his is a weird purchase for me, coming from being a SONY & Samsung Fanboy. This is the most outstanding 2D picture I have ever laid my eyes on, and I have seen many High-end Television sets. I almost bought a Sony XBR-HX909 for the super high reviews on its amazing 2D Full HD 3D Full Array TruLED Smart Dimming

VIZIO XVT553SV 55-Inch Class Full Array TruLED with Smart Dimming LCD HDTV 240 Hz SPS with VIZIO Internet Apps
First, my criticism is of the same, not the Amazon, once bought this TV at Wal Mart.
- Setup and configure -
With so many features offered by the television I thought this can be overwhelming to establish outside the box - it is not. It guides you step by step instructions on things such as synchronizing the remote control with cable / satellite receiver, configure the network to use "widgets" (or applications), etc. I was up and running, literally 10 minutes.
- Image quality -
Qualioty The picture is incredible. I searched Google for "image adjustments XVT553SV" and uses the configuration that is a forum for discussion CNET [...], but added my own settings, as they turn the light a little, and XBOX 360 for me entry in turn improve color to "normal." The colors are very rich, black levels are incredible, and you have connected the smart blur, and there is little or no "lock" or pixelation when fast-moving scenes such as waterfalls and explosions in movies.
- "Smart Dimming" local dimming -
While the image is certainly great, has some problems. There are some "blooming" or halos around objects that are white, white on black background. I just saw on the screens of slow or stationary, such as changing inputs and there is a black screen with a "no entry selected" message in white in the center of the screen. It is also more evident as the wider viewing angles. Of course, this is a product of local regulation of films (Smart darkening), but in all honesty, I never notice it when watching TV, playing video games or watching. You realize how fast the screen can be BLACK. I have an LCD TV and a 720p DLP 1080p TV and not approach the levels of black in this Vizio with intelligent regulation. When the screen goes black, it seems that the TV is off! Not so smart blur is off.
- Built-smooth -
Any TV with 120Hz (this is actually a TV scanning backlight of 120 Hz by creating a "240Hz" as affect) the "smooth" feature can make the film shows / movies look strange. It was widely described as a "novel" effect, and makes even beautifully filmed / edited shows / movies look as if filmed with a video camera. Panoramic camera seems shaky movements, popular ones are super soft, but it seems that you are there during the shoot, which is not good. Simply turn off Smooth Motion is looking nothing like movies, or film-like TV reality shows are not, sports, etc. with smooth look amazing on high. The animation and CGI animation films show / look amazing with gentle movements.
- Game Vizio -
I play an Xbox 360, and some types of delay can be noticeable when the TV game. Not with this Vizio. I can play many games of first-person shooter games, type of music requires a perfect synchronization of the entries of the type of musical instrument drivers, and motion-based games that Kinect also require perfect timing. Everything is fine on this TV. The image quality is best I've seen the Xbox 360 to play any TV I've seen / owned.
- Sound -
Surprisingly, as well a set of speakers sound pretty darned good. Personally, I turned my speakers, and use the Vizio remote control (I'll reach for the remote control itself) to adjust the volume on my receiver and use the larger speakers. This not only gives me more quality, but saves me from blowing the speakers smaller Vizio on the road as one of my other flat screen TVs in the past.
- Tickets -
Tickets are abundant with this Vizio with HDMIs dominant. I know that component cables are on track, but has only one component in the (video input cable 5 with red / green / blue and white audio / red) may require to buy a switching device that has a component becomes three, as in this link that can be [...] $ 45.00 or more depending on quality.
The possibility of introducing the usual name (instead of "game" or generic "cable") is a nice touch. You can have "cable box" or "Direct TV" or "XBOX360" or "PS3", etc etc. For those who have, literally, five HDMI devices connected that keeps things much more organized in menus.
- Remote control -
This can be a polarizing topic of this TV. I love the remote control. It feels a bit "cheaper" because of the sliding part is not really 100% solid when not in use, but does not bother me. Being Bluetooth Remote to control the TV without anywhnere points near the TV, actually, I can control the TV in another room entirely if desired. The remote also connected to my cable box and stereo system in a very simple menu that asks "what model" which is then checked yes and asked to perform a function of the device, click "yes it worked" or "try this code," and both worked on my first try.
The slide out QWERTY keyboard is not perfect, but great. The top row of buttons can be blocked by the fixed distance, but it's better than not having a QWERTY keyboard at all. It seems like a necessity when using widgets / applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Netflix (makes it easier), etc.
- Widgets / Internet Applications -
What I can say? I do not know how we did without them before. Right out of the box, Yahoo news, weather, sports, fantasy football (update statistics in real time while watching television) Pandora Internet radio, Blockbuster On Demand, Hulu Plus, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon movie on demand, and many more. I can see my local time, or any number of custom-set cities around the world. Curiously, XBOX ask your friends in England, who are enjoying their current conditions, when the chat.
After another firmware update (second from Christmas) only have more widgets, but the interface for the current (Netflix for example) has been improved. Good to know that is not resting on its laurels when it comes to applications.
The wireless connection is very strong. It will automatically detect our wireless network, and works so well that they have not gotten into the attic to run a dedicated ethernet cable, as planned. I can stream Netflix as well (maybe better?) So I can with my ethernet cable XBOX 360! I had to pause / still slow movie / game due to internet speed / connection! This is also a G wireless router too, and not the router N. extravagant
*** NOTICE OF THREE / apps INDEPENDENT !!!***
I discovered that at least a third application, independent was the cause of my TV off, and I will go on a "standby" mode. The point is explained in the next section. I would stay away from applications do not become big business. The exact name of the application is "1337 owner" and is published by a company called BrickSimple.
- Problems and Vizio customer service -
With all the great things I said about this TV, which had some bugs to solve. First the TV turns off automatically after 10 hours (hey that's what I did!) And then the Vizio logo that flashes orange / white in the same way it does when it receives a firmware update. After a few days of this I was about to change the TV for another like him, but decided to contact Vizio support first customer. Through a series of messages to a real person in a chat in real time on the Vizio site, we created a phone call with a "level 3" high technology to see if we could solve the problem. We have a "memory erasing" procedure and the problem has been corrected. A true human being in the United States, who spoke perfect English has not only helped me solve the problem, but also walked me through resetting all my settings and I talked about some features not know.
*** UPDATE ***
I found the true source of the problems of my stop - APP PART THREE bad!
It was only after I added a third-party application to track friends on Xbox LIVE (the exact name of the application is "own 1337" and is published by a company called BrickSimple) made the TV is off topics. I was able to understand when it is back to add the exact application of the TV (I never said that after "fix" techniques Vizio TV phone) this week, so who knows? Random closed Vizio logo blinking! I deleted the application, and once again television works perfectly as it should. Vizio Technology When I entered the remainder is eliminated any application not in television, including an XBox. That's why "fix" on TV!
- GENERAL -
I could not be happier with this purchase. I know nobody likes to spend money just to say how shit is the product, but if I was not 100% satisfied with this Vizio XVT553SV would easily replaced by something else. The fact is I can not think of any other TV that offers the same features, image quality, etc. for the price. Some level of plasma can do the trick, but they put more heat, and suck more power. Vizio If this lasts for years without problems I would call perfect TV, and certainly buy Vizio TVs in the future.
