his is a weird purchase for me, coming from being a SONY & Samsung Fanboy. This is the most outstanding 2D picture I have ever laid my eyes on, and I have seen many High-end Television sets. I almost bought a Sony XBR-HX909 for the super high reviews on its amazing 2D Full HD 3D Full Array TruLED Smart Dimming

VIZIO XVT3D474SV 47-Inch Full HD 3D Full Array TruLED with Smart Dimming LCD HDTV 480 Hz SPS with VIZIO Internet Apps
I've been in the market for a new TV about a year and has been waiting patiently for a decent price LED LCD as well as in 3D. This 47 "Vizio seemed to finally hit the price and size I was looking for, so I got on a sale of pre-Super Bowl to a wholesaler in the country. I took the TV with a pair of 3D glasses Vizio brand.
A quick note before going to my analysis. My TV comes with firmware version VIZIO_XP1.21.2.1.
Let me start by saying that the 2D image is absolutely amazing. The blacks are black and the colors are vibrant. Television hardly need any calibration box for those who like to modify the image. For those who do not know any better, you should be very happy the first time. Due to local regulations, I see no problems with backlight bleeding / clouding / flashlighting in my game. Also due to the 160 local areas of attenuation, I saw no sign of flowering in my game from my normal distance of about 8 '. The TV only shines quite well mastered Blu-ray. So far I've tested Avatar and surf, and that just blew my mind with this quality. I upgraded from a 4 year old 60hz and 1080p Blu-ray movies in this new Vizio is live all the new HD. I promise this is no exaggeration, I'm surprised by the clarity of the picture when fed first-rate, uncompressed signal.
The remote feels a bit cheap, but does the job. The sliding keyboard is great for Vizio Internet Apps (VAT) and the feature works as expected. The buttons are a bit stiff, but the same distance seems likely to break sometime in the future.
Motion control between this TV seems to be well done, the transitions are very smooth frame and I can say, without introducing artifacts or vibration. You can disable the motion control completely off if you do not like the "soap opera effect" as it is called. There are four settings for motion control "off", "Low" "Medium" and "High". Switching between "Off" and "Low" shows the desired effect, but so far I can not tell the difference between "Low", "Medium" and "High".
Vizio Internet applications are only acceptable to me, I have a lot of this functionality available through my Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. Currently no support for Youtube and Hulu on VIA with 3D versions of these televisions, which is a bummer. I hope to be added in a future firmware update, however, since the line has only XVT 2D. The application of Netflix worked fine, no problem here. For the curious, it seems to use the old interface of the PS3 implementation of disk-based Netflix, which is sufficient, but not the best of many iterations Netflix UI has arisen through multiple devices. The Facebook application seems quite useless to me, seemed to need navigation to see things as they wanted. The Twitter app seems very useful and shows the latest tweets followed directly on the "roof" to the interface through ... a nice touch. The application of time serves its purpose well and VUDU application was very well together, but still pales in comparison to the PS3 patch VUDU application. He does better in head to head comparison that the application of Netflix, though. I have not tried any other installed applications. All-in-all, I think the addition of VIA is a great complement to the television, but not a point of sale.
For 3D, which is the second I was most looking forward to this model. After giving a very complete test on different types of media, I think it just broke. The crosstalk / ghost is very bad for almost all the content I tried, rarely looks so great that I consider "watchable." The problem seems to be in high contrast screens, which includes almost everything you will attend, unfortunately. I'm a little biased glasses Vizio is the problem, since I am not convinced that they are sufficiently opaque when closed, but the problem could be any number of places. I'm trying to be silly and try to use along with a pair of sunglasses to see if that helps block unwanted light any extra for each eye, but even that helped, which is obviously not an acceptable solution.
I've tried several 3D games on, the channel n3D DirecTV, and offering free demonstrations available in 3D VUDU. The only time I saw something and had all forms of interference disappears with Super Stardust HD, some scenes of Toy Story 3 trailer, and almost every movie trailer animated Christmas Jim Carrey (mainly because it's very dark). Everything else has been pretty bad to me seems completely inaccessible.
I had thought of trying to adjust the picture settings when viewing 3D content to see if they could reduce or eliminate some of the interference, but Vizio that blocks almost all image settings, while in 3D mode. They only have access to color temperature, and perhaps another scenario, none of which did nothing to undermine the crosstalk.
Another note about this model for people with DirecTV, there is a known problem with ESPN 3D is not working. Vizio users trying to access ESPN 3D are greeted with a message that the TV does not support 720p in 3D and are unable to see. The problem is almost certainly hardware DirecTV, but from this post, I'm not sure he recognized that. Vizio is not an official manufacturer support 3D DirecTV, so they are not currently required to help make it work. Being aware of this.
In general, I love 2D, 3D, but is very safe. I just had the TV for a few days, but I am considering taking it again and get a refund. I have 90 days to make a decision, so he intends to call / email Vizio to see if the interference problem can be solved by glasses or a firmware update. I gave my opinion three stars, to partition the strengths and weaknesses in the middle. 3D is a great feature of this model simply does not work as expected. If somehow you can make the most of the issues resolved in 3D, I will change the opinion of five stars in a heartbeat.
In short, if you want to use 3D in this game, I would not consider.
